PAPE SAN

Street and Portrait Photography — Observing, Approaching, Composing
Festival Workshop
Sale price€1.290,00 Finance my workshop

This four day workshop offers a hands-on immersion in street and portrait photography, with a focus on the relationship between place, culture, and the people encountered. Pape San’s approach is rooted in observation, boldness, and the ability to create connection in order to reveal the humanity of his subjects within their environment.

Learners explore Venice in real-life conditions, gaining experience in overcoming hesitation, approaching strangers, identifying meaningful everyday scenes, and building a coherent photographic series. The guidance throughout the workshop emphasizes initiative, reading the environment, and using flash in the street to strengthen the visual impact of the images.

Bio

Pape San is a French-Senegalese photographer based in South Korea, whose work explores the connections between modernity, memory, and everyday life. His images focus on simple moments, faces, and places that reflect the passage of time, blending documentary sensitivity with a poetic approach.

Between Paris and Seoul, he has developed a distinctive visual language shaped by travel, encounters, and cultural exchange. As a content creator followed by a large community, he shares photography as an open narrative — a way to transmit emotion and experience rather than capture a single frozen moment.
